●Planning Objective:
This course is designed to guide civil engineering and related disciplines' students in learning on-site measurement and survey techniques, as well as Building Information Modeling (BIM) software for structural modeling, including the application and management of architectural and structural information.
This course aims to guide students from the Department of Civil Engineering and related disciplines in the fieldwork of surveying and the modeling of BIM (Building Information Modeling) structures, including architectural structures, as well as the application of 3D printing technology. The course is designed to equip students with hands-on skills in managing information and modeling pertaining to architectural structures.
●Instructional Features:
Students will gain an understanding of the BIM modeling process. By selecting the historic buildings of Shenkeng Old Street as modeling cases, students will not only acquire professional skills but also develop an appreciation for the architectural heritage and historical characteristics of these structures.
Students will explore BIM modeling processes and 3D printing applications, using the historic buildings of Shenkeng Old Street as a case study for their modeling work. Through this, students not only acquire professional skills but also gain a deeper appreciation of the features of historical architecture.
●Expected Social Impact:
Promotion and application of BIM technology.
The course centers on the theme of cultural sustainability, involving teachers and students in on-site measurements to digitally preserve and promote culturally significant street houses in Shenkeng. Using Autodesk Revit for modeling and visualization, the architectural forms are documented digitally as a means to preserve and disseminate these cultural assets.
