●Planning Objective:
This course is designed to enhance students' understanding of Shenkeng's underutilized spaces through reuse design principles. By engaging with these principles, students will appreciate the cultural and historical context of Shenkeng. The program aims to foster collaboration and participation among students to create socially impactful design projects that contribute to community development and improvement, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
●Curriculum and Instructional Features:
1. Theory of Reusing Unused Spaces After explaining the theories behind the reuse of unused spaces, these concepts will be applied to designing underutilized areas within the Shenkeng community, providing a foundation for students' future projects.
2. Local Shenkeng Site Analysis This course emphasizes interaction and collaboration with residents of the Shenkeng community. Through participatory design and community surveys, students will understand local needs and aspirations. Effective communication and co-creation will lead to community-engaged and responsive designs, enhancing local participation.
3. Interior Design and Reuse Design Students will engage in practical reuse design projects focused on Shenkeng’s spaces. Through teamwork and professional guidance, students will use creativity and technology to propose feasible and sustainable design solutions.
1. Theory of Reusing Unused Spaces
This course explores the concept of reusing unused spaces and its application to the design of underutilized areas within the Shenkeng community. This aids students in grasping the idea of repurposing unused spaces, laying the groundwork for future design endeavors.
2. Local Analysis of Shenkeng
This course emphasizes interaction and cooperation with Shenkeng community residents. Students will engage in community-based participatory design, gaining insight into the needs and expectations of residents. Through effective communication and co-creation, students will design works that embody community engagement and feedback, enhancing residents' awareness of community participation.
3. Interior Reutilization Design
Students will engage in hands-on projects aimed at reusing “unused” spaces in Shenkeng. By working together and leveraging expert advice, they will utilize their creativity and technical abilities to suggest practical and sustainable design solutions.
●Expected Social Impact:
Cultural preservation and sustainable development: Students’ design projects will contribute to the conservation and rejuvenation of Shenkeng's culture, promoting the heritage and development of local culture. Additionally, students will propose designs centered on sustainable humanitarian concerns.

(1)Design Concept
The objective is to create a public plaza where both residents and tourists can come together and relaxed. Activities might involve enjoying a picnic in open spaces and sharing food sourced from local vendors. A small kitchen will also be installed to support various events, including eating contests. The plaza will additionally function as a resting spot for visitors exploring the community.
(2)Design Objectives
A. Organize regular food-sharing events to foster interaction between residents and tourists, enhancing the vibrancy of Shenkeng.
B. Encourage engagement and dialogue among members of the community.
C. Arrange special events like eating contests and picnics, enabling residents to engage and enjoy community life collectively.
D. Create a space where residents and tourists can relax and savor local delicacies while discovering the surroundings.

(1)Design Concept
The concept for the tea merchant shop centers around "journeying through time, enjoying the fragrance of tea." The area is organized according to the historical development of the tea trade, merging antique, weathered, and contemporary features to craft an engaging experience. The cultural experience aims to enhance tourist traffic, celebrate tea culture, and rejuvenate historical buildings.
