(2) Research Motivation and Research Questions
Shenkeng is well-known for its cuisine, but its history and landscapes are also great assets to explore. We want to employ augmented reality to highlight Shenkeng's complex beauty, so that more people can appreciate its richness.

Though Shenkeng is often associated with its renowned delicacy—stinky tofu—this dish is more than just food; it symbolizes the rich culinary culture and unique local characteristics of Shenkeng. However, Shenkeng is not merely about stinky tofu; it also boasts magnificent natural landscapes and a long history. Situated in the hilly area of northern Taiwan, Shenkeng is endowed with plentiful natural resources and picturesque landscapes, featuring lush forests and crystalline streams—each possessing a unique allure. Moreover, Shenkeng features historical landmarks, including ancient streets and traditional architecture, which constitute essential elements of its cultural legacy.

This AR game can present gorgeous locations and historical landmarks to a wider audience. Players can navigate the corners of Shenkeng in a virtual environment, appreciating the breathtaking landscapes while acquiring knowledge about its history and culture. The game incorporates artistic features of Shenkeng by depicting prominent buildings and landscapes as paintings or sculptures, thereby encapsulating the essence of Shenkeng.

This research seeks to enhance Shenkeng's culinary culture and increase awareness of its varied attractions, thereby promoting local development and cultural interchange.
