●Planning Objective:
To guide students to use workshop facilities and equipment to plan and produce outputs related to Shenkeng themes.
●Curriculum and Instructional Features:
This course mainly teaches students to use the department’s cultural and creative workshop facilities for the development and training in cultural creativity. During practical operations, students are trained to use materials and modeling tools such as laser engraving, paper engraving, printing, and bookbinding to carry out visual design, emphasizing the principles of aesthetic modeling and the exploration of material textures.
●Expected Social Impact:
The translation of local elements into design crafts and the integration with "graphic/information" media linkages.

In the course "Cultural and Creative Workshop Practices," students will participate in practical design projects aimed at creating cultural signposts that reflect the distinctive qualities of Shenkeng, thus fulfilling the objective of cultural translation.

1. Initial Planning:
Students are encouraged to carry out a cultural survey of Shenkeng to gain insights into local history, landmarks, and cultural characteristics, serving as a source of inspiration for future design endeavors. Through lectures and case studies, they examine the process of transforming local elements into a visual language.
2. Design Concept Development:
Students collaborate in groups to generate innovative ideas and create cultural signposts for designated locations in Shenkeng. Class discussions offer insights on initial drafts to enhance and polish the design concepts.
3. Implementation Phase:
Students engage in their projects within workshop facilities, employing techniques like laser engraving, paper cutting, and printing. This hands-on experience allows them to develop skills in managing materials, textures, and forms. The aesthetic and functional principles are analyzed to guarantee that the signposts communicate cultural significance and act as effective informational tools.
4. Expected Outcomes:
This process enables students to acquire a comprehensive understanding of Shenkeng's cultural history, while also translating that knowledge into effective public design projects. This strengthens the link between design and culture, aiming to create results that foster positive social impact for the local community.
